The Family Funeralhome Association has a proud tradition of supporting the bereaved consumer. We have worked hard to try to protect grieving families from newcomers to our profession who may try to take advantage of their vulnerability. The mandate of the Family Funeralhome Association is to define, support, and reinforce the public’s perception of family-owned funeral homes. According to our research the vast majority of grieving families, given a choice between a family-owned home and a consolidator-run home, prefer the family-owned home. We believe that caring for the bereaved is a sacred trust, that the bereaved are entitled to receive the very best care, and that, where necessary, the bereaved must be protected from unscrupulous practices. The FFA has developed “The Bereavement Bill of Rights”. If you agree with this document, and your firm meets the FFA member standards of excellence in caring for the bereaved, you are eligible for membership. BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP Among the benefits accorded to members are: 1. Use of the FFA logo: formatted for use on stationery, brochures, and in advertising. Also provided are a Code of Conduct and Membership Certificate to further establish your firm as part of the “Family”. 2. Educational Materials: presenting the FFA program to nursing home and hospital staff, non-profit and professional associations, and religious communities is highly effective.
